Portable GPS Systems

GPS navigation technology have revolutionized the way we travel. The portable gps systems epecially, have enabled us to go from point A to point B seamlessly and without fuss or frustration.

Before we get into why portable GPS systems are so useful, it is good to know some technology behind these marvels.

This technology was first used by the military only. 30 Satellites that orbit the earth every 12 hours record data.

Five ground stations monitor the satellites positions in space and constantly recalculates the data received from the satellites and reports it, in terms of latitude and Longitude.

A system known as 3D fix receives information from these satellites. This information is forwarded to a receiver in the GPS device which analyses the data. This data is then used to locate your relative position and determine your future path.

Typically, portable gps systems, which includes gps systems for cars, boats, RVs and even joggers, require an unobstructedview of the sky to perform effectively.

Their usefulness and convenience have being proven worldwide and it would be wise for you to acquire one here.
